So much to do …
So many things on the go, that I’m getting none of them done! And I realise I’m not the motivated workaholic that I thought I was (I can’t compete with this) - so time to prioritise and work out a plan of attack and actually get some of these things really happening.
This is all in between working full-time and running Urban Interactive with Nicka (see, I still haven’t got our corporate website up yet!).
Well BarCampCanberra kinda got moved to the backburner by the committee; didn’t quite get past the point of securing a venue. I tried getting a Port 80 chapter started here after WE05 and had a few meets during 2006 but there was little interest shown in that so that petered out - but did morph into AWIA and I put together a proposal for a couple of things I wanted to do with that in Canberra, none of them social and primarily looking at promoting AWIA Canberra as a peak body for advising Government on web policy and initiatives, plus a few other things. That’s still in the works and discussions are ongoing.
Then recently, CoworkingCanberra came up in discussions on Twitter and now Steve Collins and myself are looking into that - scoping out some possible locations and drumming up some interest.
Ah and then today - in amongst looking into networking opportunities with local musicians and stumbling upon Musicians.Meetup.com … I realise, if we get CoworkingCanberra up and running, we then have our venue for BarCampCanberra AND a venue for potential muso get-togethers here in Canberra (Ajay coined Musos 2.0) … though subject to certain conditions
Also I discovered an Italian group put together MusicCamp - I’m liking that concept too! So it’d be a cross between jam sessions and performing in BarCamp style.
Now I’m excited - we can make all three happen; BarCampCanberra will live, I’ll get my jam sessions with other musicians and we’ll have our Coworking space (so I can stop working from home!).
PS: Oh yes and we were talking about Beer 2.0 on Tangler too earlier today …
PSS: Plus there’s the Phase 2 of the Fair Canberra Parking campaign I have to put together over the next couple of weeks …

we could twin our music barcamps if you organize one!
We are just back from the WaveCamp (http://barcamp.org/WaveCamp) which was a barcamp about music, creative commons, peer to peer, online promotion, etc. and it was great. Hope we are able to organize the MusicCamp soon…
keep in touch

I love the idea of a MusicCamp. I think i’d be one of the people waiting for someone else to organise it though. This one time… at music camp…
