Tagged initially by Stephen Collins on the 7th but then an additional tagging merely 5 days later by Gary Barber, who deemed I was being tardy in writing my “8 things” meme post *sighs*

I’m going to be totally random here and not do it strictly by the rules - apparently you have to tag 8 people, but I believe most of the people I know who blog have already been tagged.

Alright, on with it:

1. I was home-schooled till Year 6, skipped Year 7 and finished college (Year 11 & 12) in 14 months; did a 6 month cadetship program at the age of 17 and got my Diploma in IT and was working full-time by the age of 18 as a web application developer.
   
   
2. While working for the Australian Federal Police in 2005 we put a rock band together with 4 other AFP staff (I was the drummer) and we toured for a week in Townsville and the Solomon Islands as part of RAMSI alongside the Royal Australian Navy Band and Yothu Yindi.
   
   
3. In 2002 I had an accident while bushwalking and fell approximately 4 metres off a ledge onto rocks, smashing my wrist and cracking my skull. At least I got a helicopter ride out of it!
   
   
4. In addition to the aforementioned drums, I also play the piano and bass guitar … and have a home studio that includes a couple of synths.
   
   
5. I won the flickr photo comp at Web Directions 06 for this photo; I almost didn’t have it up in time - luckily my colleagues I was staying with were patient and let me finish uploading my pics of day #1 just as we were running out the door for day #2 … and half an hour later my pic was up on the big screen in the amphitheatre!
   
   
6. I got sucked into signing up with Amway a few years ago - although it was under the name of “G12″ or something … only discovered it was actually Amway several months into it. I didn’t last long with that.
   
   
7. I worked ground crew for an aborist cutting down trees a couple of years ago for 3 months in between jobs, because I’d prematurely left Catalyst Interactive to pursue a business opportunity that didn’t eventuate.
   
   
8. I didn’t get chickenpox till I was 20 - I have a scar inside my left arm from it.
