Twitter SMS is back!

It’s probably been back for a while - but this time simply turning your Notifications off then back on will not re-enable it.

You have to actually delete your phone number from your Twitter Settings page then add it back in (don’t forgot to replace the leading zero with your country code … ie “+61″ for Australia) and re-verify your phone number by SMSing the displayed verification code to the International Twitter SMS number.

I suggest though that you don’t tweet via SMS - I racked up $35 in International SMS in January :-)

    I’m on Three and I’m still not receiving the verification code, it’s a real bugger! But I’m learning to live with it.

    @freygan was having issues too - make sure when you put your mobile number in you use the country code otherwise Twitter thinks you’re in the US. If it’s telling you to send the verification code to 40404 then something is wrong … it should be displaying the +44 number.
