BarCampCanberra - 19 April
I mentioned this over on the Free Canberra Wireless blog a few weeks ago - but I should also mention it here that we are holding our first BarCamp event here in Canberra in three weeks on Saturday 19 April.
It’s very exciting that we’ve finally got a venue and now we’ve picked up several sponsors. Our special BarCampCanberra t-shirts should be arriving this week; hopefully you’ve already registered for the event and pre-ordered a t-shirt however if you haven’t there will be some spare shirts.
The theme of this BarCamp will be fairly open seeing it’s our first event and we want to ensure that it interests as many people as possible; so if you want to come along to the “un-conference” to hear about or preferably deliver an informal presentation (or at least participate in discussions) on business, startups, web design and development, technology … anything … then please head over to the BarCampCanberra V1 wiki page and add your name to the table; the password is “c4mp” if you miss it. And if you can’t figure out how to edit the wiki then just post a comment here with your name, area of interest and whether you’ll have a presentation ready. We’ll have A/V gear available for projecting presentations and the like if you want to get all fancy
Oh and the venue is the ANU. The CSIT building to be exact. I expect that the Canberra event won’t be quite the mayhem that BarCampSydney V3 was: Paper airplane fight.
19 April. Put it in your calendar!
And you know what - to celebrate the inaugural BarCamp in Canberra and as part of the BarCamp event happening in Sydney right now this weekend (well it’s probably over for now and they’re all out for drinks) I’ve put together a Weewar map that looks like the BarCamp logo!

I wish I could be there. Doubly so with the barcamp Weewar map! Very cool.
