I deleted my Brightkite account
I’d had enough. I stuck with it for months, logged hundreds and hundreds of check-ins … but in the end life got too crowded and I was forgetting to update it … and that really niggles at me, having inaccurate data - when it looks like I’ve spent the night at work because I forgot to check in at home etc. Just so manually intensive. I did give it a good go but there was no ROI - I got maybe 3 proximity alerts over the whole period I used Brightkite, all of them via email because SMS wasn’t working at the time (and I’m still not sure SMS in Australia for Brightkite actually works yet). It’s a good idea but it should be global positioning aware technology updating it for me, not me having to do it manually. Just too much effort for nothing back.
Good-bye Brightkite.

Yeah, I’m about this far off doing the same. Then I wonder whether I should keep it in case it takes off.

Okay granted I don’t move around as much as you guys do. But I have NEVER got one alert at all. It’s really just not going to work until it has a localised critical mass. Waste of time.
